The Perfect Post Workout Meal This Season

Go with Root vegetables for your post work out meal: They are in season; acorns, squash, yams and sweet potatoes... along with a protein such as chicken fish or a lean read meat - this is the ultimate high quality food combination for solid recovery and to aid in repairing your muscles.

Remember timing is key, here is how to get this meal ready fast and easy:

On a pan with some olive oil and some spices of your choice, salted to your taste, combine quartered acorn squash with sliced yams and possibly some brussel sprouts. Then bake at 450 degree for thirty minutes uncovered. When done this will provide a healthy and delicious meal right after your workout.

Another good tip is when grilling meat, hopefully you didn't cover your barbecue grill because that is the best way to cook your meats. Get outside and grill for a healthy meal.

The Best Post Workout Meal

Timing

The key to the post workout meal is TIMING. There is an open window up to 30 minutes after you workout where the key is to replenish all the nutrients that you exhausted during your workout. The most important thing is to consume your postworkout meal within this 30 minute time frame.
